Health Care Reform
John Deere supports federal policy improvements to bring about more affordable, effective and high quality health care for all Americans while maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the current employer-provided system.
On March 23, 2010, after more than a year of debate, sweeping federal health care reform legislation entitled the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” was enacted into law. The comprehensive new law will be implemented over a number of years requiring numerous federal regulations and guidances.
Deere cannot determine the full impact of the new health care law until the necessary applicable rules become available. Deere will fully comply with the new law and will continue to examine the law’s impacts on our health care benefit plans with the continued goal to attract and retain a highly skilled workforce who can help ensure that the company is globally competitive.
